On October 2, 2015, the Durham Museum was filled with teachers from all over the Omaha metro area. Over 1,500
teachers roamed the historic train station perusing the tables of dozens of educational vendors for the Durham’s Annual Teachers’ Night and The Nebraska Writing Project was there to greet them.
Jeff Grinvalds and Darin Jensen met with an estimated 200 teachers, sharing the transformative power of the Nebraska Writing Project. Maggie Christensen, Director of the Oxbow Writing Project, also joined them.
Crowds of people came to hear about how the Writing Project is “professional development that works.” Darin pointed out repeatedly that, “when you take the Summer Institute, you come back to the classroom with twenty lessons you can use right away!” This is a message that teachers take to heart.
Educators from elementary school through high school listened to the message as NeWP merchandise was passed out. The night was fulfilling and deeply rewarding.
